Picture of School Nurse Message

Today is World Diabetes Day!

Diabetes is a common
chronic health disease affecting approximately 1 in 433 youth across the U.S.1
With advances in technology, students are able to monitor their diabetes at school with help
from a health care professional - the school nurse.

School nurses play an integral role in ensuring students stay safe and healthy. For some students, this includes monitoring and supervising individualized healthcare plans while at school.

Having the right tools to educate, maintain and respond quickly to blood
glucose levels is an important part of the student’s diabetes management
program.
