OHSAA Catastrophic Accident Insurance Plan

We wanted to take this opportunity to provide information on the catastrophic accident insurance coverage that is furnished by the OHSAA to the membership should an unfortunate need arise at school. This coverage, with an annual premium of approximately $600,000, is provided at virtually no cost to member schools, with the exception of the $250 fee collected from schools that participate in a football preseason jamboree.

The insurance covers all students (athletes, managers, trainers, cheerleaders) in grades 7 through 12 involved in OHSAA interscholastic competition that is authorized, sanctioned, scheduled and governed by the OHSAA in the sports in which the Association conducts tournaments. This includes activities between the starting and ending dates of the respective sports seasons.
